Gunns Plains, Tasmania

Gunns Plains is located 20 km (a 25min drive) south of Ulverstone on the north-west coast of Tasmania.

This valley has a population of approximately 300. The Leven River winds slowly through its pastures that support a variety of grazing stock. Agricultural endeavours are also very successful, benefiting from rich red volcanic soil.

The Valley has one vineyard that produces Pinot and Chardonnay. However, the main attraction in Gunns Plains are the limestone caves, of which over one hundred and fifty have been discovered. The second largest known, the remarkable Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service administered Gunns Plains Cave opens to the public with daily tours.
